Genesis 1:8, 9

1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the morning and the evening were the second day.

1:9 And God said, "Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.": and it was so.

God named the expanse above the waters the heaven. Naming creation upon the earth will be a function for Adam later. Here in 1:8, Heaven is the generic name for all the area above the ground.

We see a dark development later in Homer's Illiad when Althaia invokes the underworld gods by lying flat upon the earth, beating the ground (9.565ff). In the ancient's minds, if you were down upon the earth you were in the realm of hell or Domos Hades, the dwelling place of the unseen, not heaven. Quite different from the way God shows us the grandeur of His creation.

God speaks with a purpose again and that purpose is to give us a dry habitat to dwell in. God commands (Hebrew command form is here translated as Let-It Be is understood) that the waters underneath the expanse are gathered into an area so that a non-water covered place would arise. And it happened just this way.

The words Dry Land here are better translated as Dryness. So God says, Let-it be, the dryness appear.

This is the beginning of the Precambrian Supereon into the Archeazoic eon.

The largest defined unit of time is the supereon, composed of eons. Eons are divided into eras, which are in turn divided into periods, epochs and ages.

The most common large-scale time scale is millions of years (Megaannum or Ma), or also Mya for "millions of years ago." But long-term measurements still requires very large numbers. By using the galactic year this gives numbers that are easier to remember. The Galactic Year (GY) is the time it takes for the solar system to revolve once around the galactic core, or about 250 Ma.

By this measure, oceans appeared on Earth after 4 GY, life began at 5 GY, and multicellular organisms first appeared at 15 GY. Dinosaurs went extinct about 0.4 GY ago, and the true age of mammals began about 0.2 GY ago. The age of the Earth is estimated at about 20 GY or about 4.570 billion years old.

Genesis 1:4

1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

God saw both the Physical light and the Spiritual light of the Messiah.....and it was all good. The Spirit of the Messiah was life giving and generated life in the universe. Just as Jesus gives us spiritual life He gives real life to all that His Light touches.

His light filled the "Void" of the "Deep" and brought forth real life. God saw it and knew it was good for the universe. God separated life from Death. Light from Darkness. The Messiah from the Angel of Death.

On account of the Darkness, Light had to be revealed. This is why Light follows Darkness. Day follows Night.

Genesis 1:3

1:3 And God said, "Let there be light: And there was light.

And God said, "Let "Him" be light. The word "there" is not in the text. It either says, "Let it be" or "Let Him be" light. Either way, what we know about Jesus would fit the context here as He is the light of the world. We know "Him" to be the life, both natural and spiritual and all that comes with it, the prosperity, honor, joy, happiness, fullness, comfort, hope, knowledge, etc. All the life there is flows through Him.

God's light shone on the unprepared, unformed and empty of life area that was about to receive the creative power of God into it.

God said, the word AMAR in Hebrew is used not the word Dibbur. Amar regards intent, forethought, and purpose. Dibbur only regards the Physical process of speech. God had a purpose and the world came into being to fulfill His purpose.

Light. Spiritual light of the Messiah, Is.30:26, Mt. 24: 29, 30, Colossians 1:12.

E=MC2 - Energy and mass are interchangeable. At the Big Bang or the beginning event in the Cosmos, all matter as we know it sprang forth from a point smaller than an Atom. when an A-Bomb explodes, matter is converted to energy. At the Big Bang, energy converts to matter and anti-matter, but just a little bit more matter to offset the anti-matter, otherwise there would be nothing but heat would have been created. The Jews believed that the Word of God is continually being spoken forth or the world would cease to exist! Just needs that little bit of matter, that Word which became flesh and dwelt among us(John 1:1) gives life and doesn't return Void! It fills the void!

Our galaxy is expanding at ~ 1 million MPH and all the universe is expanding at 1 Billion MPH. The universe is composed of 99% dark matter vs. 1% viable matter. Just a little light goes a long way! The universe is expanding fast and faster and will not slow and re-collapse in on itself and "rebang" but will continue to diffuse towards "disorder" or evenness.
